The general rules of baseball apply with these exceptions/additions (again, these are the basics and we will be adding/adjusting throughout the season):

• Games will last 45-minutes (or 7 innings)
• Minimum of 2 women must play on the field at all times
• Substitutions: ARE allowed, provided they do NOT play on another team.
• Number of people on the field at the same time is 10 (there are 12 people on each team)
• You may “stike/hit” a person with the ball to get them out.
• There are no strike outs or walks. Four foul balls is an out.
• “Tagging up” is NOT allowed on foul balls.
• You cannot “lead off” the base. You must remain on the base until the ball is kicked.
• There is NO bunting. A bunt is defined as not taking a full swing/kick.
• There is a 7-run mercy rule per inning.
• If a team is winning by 15 or more runs a the end of the 5th inning, the game will be called.
• If a game is tied at the end of 45 minutes (or 7 innings), it is marked as a tie.
• NO cleats are allowed.
• Player Interference: If a player intentionally interferes with a play, it will be an automatic out. Intentional interference is decided upon at the ref’s discretion.
• If a runner gets hit by a kicked ball, that runner should be out and the ball/play declared dead, unless the runner is still on the base when struck.
• Runners are allow ONE base only on an over-throw.
• If a foul ball is kicked over the TALL fence on either field, it is an out.
• Bases will be spaced 60-feet apart.
• Pitches must be smooth-rolling at a moderate speed (no fastballs), with minimal bouncing and little to no spin.
• Once the pitcher has the ball in control and retains possession on the mound, the play ends. Runners who are off base at this time and in forward motion may advance only one base. Runners who are off base at this time and not in forward motion must return to the base from which they were running.
• Kickers must kick within the kicking box. He/she must have at least a portion of the plant foot within the kicking box during the kick. The kicker may line up outside of the kicking box.
• Absolutely NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED within the park. It is again NYC Parks and Recreation rules. Violators will be subject to expulsion from the league and all Big Apple sports.

• Get to the fields (10th Ave at 28th St) at 7:30pm to meet your team, get your tees and find out the schedule.

• Season will run from Oct. 4-25 (Tuesdays; 4 weeks)
• Games will be played from 8pm-10:30pm.

This is happening! Big Apple Dodgeball is excited to announce the Co-Ed 4-Week Summer Dodgeball Tournament for Charity (August 1-22).

“I’m SO in! How/when do I register?”

• Register half-teams (HTs) of either five people who identify as men or five people who identify as women.
• Half-teams of 5 will be RANDOMLY matched to create full, balanced teams of 10.
• Games will be played on Monday from August 1-22 at Tony D’s from 7-9:30pm.

• If you don’t have 5 people but still want to play, come Open Play (details below) to find teammates. Otherwise, hit up our FaceBook page (or your local bar) looking for fellow dodgeballers!
• There will be OPEN PLAY on the handball courts outside of the gym on Saturday, July 30 from 1-4pm. Everyone is welcome.

It’s (finally) starting to look like Summer and all of NYC’s hottest ladies will be descending upon Rock Bar (185 Christopher St) for RockBRA bacchanalia, hosted this month by Big Apple Dodgeball on JUNE 3rd after 9pm.

There will be drink specials, flirty games and plenty of time to start trash talking the competition about the upcoming dodgeball tournament.
